Ventura, derived from the Latin phrase “the things that will come,” captures the essence of this project. Casa Ventura is a single family residence, located in the lush Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami.
The layout begins with a simple yet compelling cube-like form, representing a foundation from which limitless potential unfolds. This initial structure serves as a canvas upon which the client’s unique program is artfully integrated. Through an interplay of expansion, shifting, and stretching, Casa Ventura evolves into a project that resonates with the client.
Casa Ventura’s distinguishing feature lies in blurring boundaries between exterior and interior spaces. Extending materials from the facade into living areas erases barriers, inviting nature to become an integral part of the experience. This intermingling of spaces creates a symbiotic relationship between the home and Miami’s tropical splendor, allowing the clients to fully immerse in their surroundings.
In line with the vision of creating a serene and inviting atmosphere, the choice of materials plays a pivotal role in shaping Ventura’s character. Soft, natural, and light elements, such as warm-toned wood, white slump bricks, concrete, and large glass expanses gracefully intertwine to form the aesthetic foundation of the residence. These carefully selected materials not only imbue Casa Ventura with an aura of tranquility but also establish a tactile connection between the interior and the lush tropical environment that envelops it.
As a result, Casa Ventura is a home designed to blend with nature, offering endless possibilities for a serene living experience.
